How can you say he sucks? I'm sure if I gave you a guitar you wouldn't be able to do crap with it. Now I'm not saying Hendrix or Page weren't good, they were very influential guitarists, but you still have to have skill to do what this guy does. Don't say he sucks just because he is doing something unconventional.

Andy, its not that the strings are higher on acoustics, its that they're thicker. which is why this sounds so damn cool. He's playing it like a piano, hammertime!!

this is for those who claim "he's just tapping" Say what you need to say so that you dont feel like you suck when you watch him. I play guitar, have for years now, and I feel like I suck when i watch him. He is tapping yes, but I've never seen it done like that before, all the while accenting it with percussion and some really cool harmonics. In conclusion, he's far from "Just Tapping."

I think he did great.
I've been playing acoustic since '67 and have just seen a couple of folks doing this.
I've tried it with my guitars but I think he's got his strings running nice and low because none of mine with more than the lowest could ever get that good a sound.
I guess the posts that were slamming him have their own spots on TV so they are in his league.

Anyone who would say this guy sucks and all that he's doing is tapping is obviously one of those morons who "plays" guitar and thinks he knows everything. The layering of the harmonies and leads are amazing, especially when you figure in how clean and punchy his harmonics are in the middle of all those well conceived lines. His groove is tight, his tone is flawless. There's nothing but talent and well-honed chops here, not to mention a fine ear.

heres a tip for those who want to do this...HAVE REALLY REALLY REALLY LOW ACTION!!!! (for those who dont know, action is the distance between the strings and fretboard) but that was absolutely great man.

For those of you that think this guy sucks, you obviously DON'T play guitar and I'm betting, not musically inclined in any way.
What this guy is doing is incredibly difficult both musically and mechanically. Clean tones, good composition, excellent transitions. For those idiots that don't understand any of that, I'll assume that you don't know anything about music and dumb it down for you. This guy is playing harmony, lead and percussion all at once on an acoustic guitar AND he's doing it with a mechanical method that isn't taught anywhere. And I'm betting that what he's playing is his own original composition as the uniqueness of his technique doesn't lend itself well to mainstream compositions. Put all of that together and this guy is one talented musician and guitarist, if you disagree, you're simply too ignorant to know talent and skill when you see it.
The pioneer of this hammer-on technique is a man named Stanley Jordan, if you enjoyed this, I highly recommend checking out Jordan.

the music is very good, but overall, his style isnt very difficult. its all hammer on's and pull offs plus the harmonics. dont get me wrong, he would have to be tallented to do that, but it isnt nearly as hard as you think, and yes, i play guitar, so i would know

As someone who has played for 14 years I can honestly say that you were wrong on both accounts. Tapping is difficult and it's twice as hard on an acoustic because a) you don't have amplification to fall back on and b) the strings are thicker meaning you need to apply more force to the frets in order to produce any noise. Get a clue numbnuts.

Well coming from 17 years of guitar playing 6 string, 12 string, 7 string, electric, acoustic... I would have to say that it was pretty good. Not the best I have seen but still pretty good. Just wondering why people have to HAMMER him? Really it was not that hard but I am not going to slam the guy and neither should anyone else.

When I played in Norway, they were quite impressed with the harmonic slapping, the arpeggios, etc. Over here in America, not as much. I think it's a matter of styles and how available a certain sound is. But either way, it's a privilege to have people like what you do, even if you find it relatively easy. So those of you with your negative comments: you are simply ungrateful, and probably not more talented than a few million others like you if you must scream to the world, "see, I CAN DO THAT, TOOOO." Anyway, I think this kind of creative--if haphazard--fooling around is always a lot of fun to hear. Good job.

He's good. Real good. For that type of music. Its like trying to compare him to Eddie Van Halen. You cant do that 'cause its not fair competition. This guy has a lot of talent. Is he the best. No. Is he the worst no. No. Becuase he is in his own league. So to the people trying to say " he's just tapping" or " I know guitar playing and this guy is good, so lets see you put a video on here playing better". He's insanely good at not only playing the guitar but experimenting with different sounds. His harmonics are absolutely beautiful and his tone of choice is blended perfectly with his rhythm of tapping ( on the guitar ).
